Comedy I can relate to in every day life does make me laugh, as well as think about how clever it is. There are many British comics out there who for me really do hit that spot - Peter Kay, Jack Dee and Lee Evans are the usual suspects. Michael Mclntyre has now joined that group of comics who I enjoy watching. I recently went to see him perform live at the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, I must say I felt it a little bit risky as I have only seen him on YouTube clips and on the gloriously funny Mock The Week. I need not worry, he was hilarious. During a week where my cat decided to sod off and live with someone else I needed some laughter to build up my spirits. I left the venue feeling warm and fuzzy, and although I was still upset, this helped my pain. Very funny man, and highly recommended. Profound Ponderings http://www.nicktoye.co.uk/notebook/profound-ponderings/ http://www.nicktoye.co.uk/entries/profound-ponderings/ There’s a possibility that really great web design receives neither praise nor criticism. It just works. Espresso http://www.nicktoye.co.uk/notebook/espresso/ http://www.nicktoye.co.uk/entries/espresso/ Espresso is a new piece of software from the makers of CSSEdit 2. It is still in beta and I am patiently waiting to try it out and see how it will improve my workflow. Without going into too much detail, it seems to be a fully fledged web development tool to rival that of Coda. Now I liked the look of Coda, but I really didn't want to move away from CSSEdit 2, as I find that so simple and fun to use. So the fact that MacRabbit are working on a rival development suite is very exciting for me, and I await the Beta with anticipation, and dare I say it immense expectations. I will post a more detailed review once I have managed to get my hands on a copy.
